As President Obama enters his second term with a divided Congress, issues of domestic commerce and international trade might be two areas of common ground between the political parties. Free trade agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and ways of dealing with China's policies could be dealt with on a bipartisan basis or become points of divisiveness. The same holds true for creating jobs in the apparel and textile industry, where incentives such as tax breaks for expanding the workforce could meet cross-party support or be seen as protectionist. In addition, the Design Piracy Bill protecting original design seems to have wise bipartisan support.
