Lenzing presented:

Future black forever: Lenzing Modal® branded fibers in black color are the fashionable and ecological solution of the future in many usages such as lingerie, loungewear, tops, denim and socks. Textiles of Lenzing Modal® fibers in black color are durable as the color stays put even after repeated washing. As the black color pigment is added directly to the fiber matrix, dyeing is no longer necessary. With future black forever fashion becomes ecological.

Give People What They Want!

Jim Krueger, CEO of the International Antimicrobial Council

Sub-title: Research shows which performance features Americans desire in apparel. You might think you’re giving it to them, but are you really sure?

Apparel brands and retailers are constantly searching for new ways to differentiate their products and, often, that means adding various performance features. One of the most popular trends today is adding “freshness” features to apparel and home textiles. Research shows that 60% of consumers are interested in purchasing products that will remain fresh all day. Or, for those who already own ‘all-day fresh’ products, interest in re-purchasing items with this feature is 90%. Of course, antimicrobials help brands and retailers make and keep their all-day fresh promise.

Join Mr. Jim Krueger, CEO of the International Antimicrobial Council, to learn more about these freshness trends. Jim will share research results and, importantly, help the audience understand how brands and retailers can keep their promise to consumers once product developers and marketers decide to include antimicrobials in their lines. Don’t get in trouble by making promises you cannot keep when it comes to the freshness trend.

Disruption. Transformation. Growth.

Molly Kremidas, Nilit, Global Marketing Manager, Nilit America

Sub-title: How consumer trends are disrupting the marketplace, transforming the way we shop and presenting growth opportunities to savvy apparel suppliers and brands.

The apparel industry is undergoing the most rapid transformation since the advent of ready-to-wear. Smart-phone toting consumers, empowered by new shopping, information and price-checking apps, have become more knowledgeable and demanding than ever. Many are eschewing shopping for more experiential activities, choosing instead to rent, share and swap clothes.

Despite cutthroat promotional tactics, traditional retailers can’t seem to stop the decline in brick and mortar traffic, resulting in the biggest rash of bankruptcies, store closures and mall repurposing since the Great Recession. At the same time, increased competition from global retailers expanding into new markets and the continued explosion of e-commerce players indicate that the oversupply of retail space and inventory will not abate anytime soon.

Traditional fashion media have lost power to Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and bloggers, regular folks with an eye for style who’ve captured the imagination of their peers.

Not surprisingly, suppliers and brands are struggling to make sense of it all. Join this panel of industry experts for a lively discussion to learn more about the major consumer shifts causing today’s transformation and what suppliers and brands can do to find growth opportunities in the “new normal”.
